Welcome to my world

 Hello and welcome to my world of crochet, or at least that's what I want this blog to be about.

My name is Joanna and I love everything handmade, but crocheting has become my passion and since it's almost 2 years since I started crocheting, I thought it's a good time to finally write a bit more about my passion, ideas, inspirations and  designs...

Designs- I know , right? I never thought that it's possible to just grab a hook, some yarn and let your mind guide your hand through stitches, to create an actual item, of which the image, has been hiding in your head for so long.

I learnt how to crochet from tutorials on YouTube, my favourite channel being The Crochet Crowd-, but there are also many others that I enjoyed watching and learnt from too.

 I don't really know yet ,what shape will this blog take- with time I would like to share some of my patterns , add photos of my work and so on, but as free time isn't something I have plenty of, well..... just bare with me .

I am a mum to my wonderful 3 children, John, Alice and Lilly, and a wife to my husband, who has been supporting me in my crochet adventure from the very beginning . I crochet in the evenings, when the children are asleep , as I don't want crocheting to interfere with family time. My son is the oldest and he has just started school. Alice and Lilly are 2 and 1, so I still have my hands full.

 I crochet because it helps me deal with depression, because it helps me deal with loneliness ( yes, one can be very lonely despite having wonderful family life), and it makes me feel wonderful, when things I make bring joy to others.

  I crochet because it amazes me everyday , what beautiful things can be made out of yarn, I browse various crochet sites and everyday I am amazed at how clever people are, how creative can people be and just how useful this all is. Because let's face it - it's not just hats and scarves and socks, it's jumpers, dresses, shoes, it's containers, bags, cushions, pot holders, toys, and my personal best- graphghans, it's so many things that are both beautiful and useful... Oh I just love crocheting.

 Don't really know what else to write today, so I think I'll leave it at that. 

I haven't had the time to upload any photos on my laptop apart from the main cover one , but I will remedy that asap.
